Cannes 2009 Un Certain Regard Awards with Alec Montiel
Friday Apr 24, 2020
Friday Apr 24, 2020
We return to the 2009 Cannes Film Festival to award the films of the Un Certain Regard Section with our guest jury president Alec Montiel! We also fail to explain what Un Certain Regard is. It's a sidebar programmed by the Cannes programmers (unlike Directors' Fortnight which is run autonomously) and mostly reserved for newer or less accessible filmmakers - Fremaux has said he doesn't consider it a lesser section but it basically is. Still, it houses quite a few gems and 2009 is an outstanding edition.
